Which Honda Vehicles Are The Most Fuel Efficient?
May 26 2021, Centennial Honda
There’s no getting around it. The automotive industry is slowly but surely making the transition from gas to electricity - or in some cases, a combination of the two. But here in North America, the full electrification of Honda’s lineup isn’t expected for another ~20 years. According to Car and Driver, “affordable, fuel-efficient, gasoline-powered cars still outnumber electric cars, and they have a lock on the under-$30,000 category—for now.” So we thought we’d share Honda’s most fuel-efficient models so you can save the planet while you save at the pump!
Honda Accord - 7.13L/100km
We already know the 2021 Honda Accord is impressive. It’s earned a spot on Car and Driver’s coveted ‘10 Best’ list for 23 consecutive years, and was recently named a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS. This revamped model features a spaciously comfortable interior, and has a remarkable EPA-estimated range of 785 kilometers per single tank of gas. The base model comes with a powerful 192 horsepower turbocharged four cylinder engine and a CVT, and starts at just $34,390.
Honda Civic - 6.53L/100km
Canada’s best-selling car for 23 years (and counting!) ranks third overall among Car and Driver’s most fuel-efficient cars. This IIHS Top Safety Pick gets 679 kilometers on a single tank of fuel, and comes fully equipped with a 174 horsepower 2.0-litre four cylinder engine and CVT. Starting at just $25,220, the 2021 Honda Civic is “a good choice when trying to avoid gas stations.”
