Every 2023 Honda In Canada Has Remote Start Built In
May 17 2023, Centennial Honda
Whether you're preparing to get into your car on a hot summer afternoon or a cold winter morning, there's nothing like remote start to take the sting off. Every mass-produced Honda available in Canada for the 2023 model year (ultra-rare Civic Type R aside) is equipped with remote engine start as standard equipment.
From the most affordable Honda Civic LX all the way up to the Honda Pilot Black Edition, remote engine start is integrated right into the keyfob of all Canadian-market 2023 Hondas. That includes the Civic, Accord, HR-V, CR-V, Passport, Pilot, Ridgeline, and Odyssey. No extra fob, no dealer-installed accessories, no additional charges.
But did you know that your Honda keyfob can do a lot more than just unlock, lock, open the trunk, send a panic signal, and turn your car on?
KEY
There's a key inside your fob. If your key fob battery completely quits, slide the tab open on the back or top of your fob and pull an actual key out.
START YOUR HONDA WITH A DEAD BATTERY
But then how are you going to use an actual key in a Honda with pushbutton start? Don't worry. You can still start the car. Hold the key fob – even with a dead battery – right up to the Start/Stop button and now press the button twice to start your Honda's engine.
PUT YOUR WINDOWS DOWN
It's not a bad idea to cool off your Honda on a summer day even before using remote start, but you can do that right from your fob. Press the unlock button; your Honda's lights will flash. Now hold the unlock button again and your windows – and sunroof, if equipped – will open. (Hey, did you know in newer Hondas you can shut this key fob trick off, too?)
MEMORY
For Hondas with memory functions for power settings (like a power driver's seat), the two key fobs delivered with your Honda will be marked as 1 and 2. If you're using key 1 and set your memory settings, your Honda will know the next time Driver 1 opens the door that the seat should be positioned your way.
