2022 Honda Civic Hatchback: Manual Transmission Available In All Three Canadian Trim Levels
September 22 2021, Centennial Honda
For those who love to row their own gears, for drivers who believe shifting should be a DIY activity, for car buyers who want to see three pedals in the footwell, for everyone who believes Save The Manuals is the ultimate rallying cry, the 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is here.
In all three trim levels of the hatchback version of Honda's all-new 11th-generation Civic, you can select a short-throw 6-speed manual transmission. Whether you choose automatic or manual, the price is the same: $28,000 for the 2022 Honda Civic LX Hatchback, $31,500 for the Civic Sport Hatchback, and $35,000 for the Civic Hatchback Sport Touring.
Months after releasing the new Civic sedan, the hatch benefits from all of the new car's upgrades: ridiculously high equipment levels that includes proximity access, Apple CarPlay, and remote start; Honda Sensing advanced safety tech like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist; a stiffer chassis for better ride quality and superior handling; and a quieter cabin.
The 2022 Civic Hatchback also includes the biggest back seat in the Civic's history along with a gigantic 693-litre cargo area.
Honda's latest Civic Hatchback adopts the Civic sedan's Touring powerplant for use in the Sport and Sport Touring. It's a 1.5-liter turbo producing 177 horsepower rated at 6.3 L/100km in highway driving. The Civic LX Hatchback is powered by Honda's 2.0-liter four-cylinder, a 158-horsepower engine rated at either 6.2 or 6.6 L/100km on the highway depending on transmission choice.
You'll recognize the Civic Hatchback Sport on the road due to its 18-inch Gloss Berlina Black alloys (with 235/40R18 tires), black exterior trim, and dual exhaust. The Sport Touring is amped up inside with Bose audio, a digital 10.2-inch instrument display, a heated steering wheel, and much more.
The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is officially on sale in Canada on October 1.
