What question do you think is heard most often inside a car dealership showroom? In 2024, you can expect to hear a lot about electric vehicles, hybrids, and availability. But among the most common subjects – not just this year but also last year and surely next year – relates to the selection of three-row vehicles.

Which Hondas have seven seats? 

We can answer that, although we're not just going to tell you which Hondas have seven seats, but also which Hondas have eight seats, as well.

For 2024, Honda Canada's passenger car lineup includes two five-seaters: Civic and Accord. The Civic is also available as a five-seat hatchback. Honda builds a five-passenger pickup, the Ridgeline, as well as three five-seat utility vehicles: HR-V, CR-V, and Passport. New for 2024 is Honda's five-passenger Prologue EV. 

This leaves two Hondas with three-row seating, the 2024 Honda Pilot and 2024 Honda Odyssey. The Pilot is now in its fourth generation; the Odyssey is in its fifth. 

Across its three rows, the 2024 Pilot offers acres of space. The front row provides 41 inches of legroom, the second row has 40.8 inches of legroom, and the third row offers 32.5 inches of legroom. There are 635 litres of cargo capacity behind the third row, 1,685 litres with the third row folded, or 3,166 litres of cargo space with both the second and third row folded.

There are five Pilot models in the 2024 lineup: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, and Black Edition. The 2024 Pilot Sport, Pilot EX-L, Pilot Touring, and Pilot Black Edition have eight seats in a 2-3-3 configuration. The 2024 Pilot TrailSport is a seven-seater in a 2-2-3 configuration with second-row captain's chairs. The Pilot EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition include an On-Demand removable second-row middle seat that can be stored in a dedicated space behind the third row in order to turn into a 2-2-3 configuration. 

In the 2024 Honda Odyssey lineup, there are three models available: EX-L, Touring, and Black Edition. All three three-row options are fitted with eight seats in a 2-3-3 configuration.

Like the Pilot, the Odyssey includes an easily removable second-row middle seat. Removing that seat enables the Odyssey's Magic Slide mode, in which the outboard captain's chairs can be kept separate, shuffled to one side or the other, or positioned in the middle together.
